Who Are We?

What is the Muskoka Youth Programs all about, and what does it have to do with me? Muskoka Community Futures Development Corporation offers a range of programs geared to inspiring the youth of our community.

It is especially important to us that we help young people in Muskoka develop an entrepreneurial spirit and leadership skills. We also try to equip young people to become better prepared for the world of business by delivering programs that focus on encourage these talented youth of our community to remain Muskoka.

But there's nothing in Muskoka! Why should I stay here? There has always been a sense that smaller communities like ours are merely the beginning point of a young person's career as they head towards the 'big city'. Nothing could be farther from the truth!
Many of the businesses and services in Muskoka have been created and developed by people who grew up here just like you. All it takes is determination, a good idea, and a little help from dedicated people like those at Muskoka Community Futures Development Corporation who believe you can succeed.
Products and services are needed in Muskoka just like anywhere else, and by looking to your community first you can find business opportunities that you never even knew you had, right here at home.

What Do We Do?

What can you do for me? We provide a number of services for the youth in our area. On top of programs, we also run the Business Resource Centre which includes computer workstations (located in our building), as well as offering loan financing and business mentoring. We are committed to helping youth in our community, and would love to hear from you if you have any questions.

Why do you do it? Because we like that warm fuzzy feeling inside when we see someone we've helped succeed and go on to bigger and better things.

Our Mission..

Our mission is to inspire and educate Muskoka young people by equipping them with the necessary business skills through proven programs that will effectively reverse the migration trend of youth in the area and to enhance Muskoka's economy with an educated workforce.

We provide:

• youth with business knowledge and innovative skills through the school system by delivering a variety of quality programs, both fun and experiential that ecourage our Muskoka youth to embrace Entrepreneurship
• access to a Business Resource Centre where we provide educational, mentoring, and apprenticeship services with business and financial resources for youth aged 18-34 keen on becoming entrepreneurs in Muskoka
